The magnificent
Grand Cru boat
The history
The Grand Cru was born in the imagination of businessman André L’Espérance, who was already the owner of renowned Orford Express tourist train. More than 400 pages of technical calculations were necessary to build this unique concept of commercial vessel without partitions. From plans and specifications drawn up in summer 2008, including plant works in summer 2009, and until construction started in spring 2010, the Grand Cru was ready for its first season in the summer of 2011.
Following the announcement of the dry dock works last fall, we are happy to show you more about Escapades Memphrémagog’s procedure for this major project, a world premiere!
The boat capacity
The maximum boat capacity is 182 passengers. The different sections and rooms were named after the Premier Cru. The main deck presents the “Latour” section which adorns the boat with magnificent benches.
The central “Lafite” section at the front and the “Margaux” section at the back offer flexibility in terms of configuration. The upper deck has a private room with 24 seats and is named “Salon Haut-Brion”, followed by a magnificent terrace accessible to all passengers.
The Conception of this Fabulous Catamaran
With a length of 135 ft. (41.15 m), a little longer than 3 buses, the Grand Cru has been designed to allow a seated and a standing place for each passenger on board. It offers 10-foot high ceilings, embellished with ExtenzoMD and SwarovskiMD crystals. This majestic boat offers its passengers unmatched comfort, rain or shine.
The huge windows from the table to the ceiling total 780 ft2 of fenestration. We find unique and non-flammable floors in Bubinga wood as well as walls made up of exotic African Anigre Figuré wood. The boat is also decorated with finishes varying between marble, stainless steel and chrome. With its huge cellar of 340 bottles of private imports, the Grand Cru will impress all boaters.
Even a visit to the bathroom will surprise passengers with a short animation on the 3D televisions placed behind the mirrors.
